ACQUA FOR LIFE BY GIORGIO ARMANI

 THE IMPORTANCE OF WATER 
All the biggest populations were born and developed all along the rivers and the sea, or upon plateau characterized by heavy rains, it's easy deduct that it's just for a big reason: the presence of the water. Now I'm thinking of the Egyptian or the Babylonian and the Sumerian ... Why water was and is a very important element for the life? 

All these important populations had understood that without water wasn't possible to plant a field, to grow up the cattle breeding, it made easier the trade, it was the only one hygienic rule, but above all it was indispensable  for human life and for all the other living being. With the passing of time and the scientific discoveries, with the hygienic and sanitary variations, with the increase of the epidemic disease caused by undrinkable water, it's being verified that water MUST be DRINKABLE!

WHEN LUXURY MEETS HEART

Unfortunately, all along not all the humans profit by this important resource.

Every day, 4000 children die for infectious disease transmitted by undrinkable water.

It's for this reason that Giorgio Armani, in collaboration with the Green Cross International, one of the most important indipendent not governmental and no-profit association, has started an important campaign votes for children who can't take advantage of this precious resource.    

IT'S TIME FOR ACTION!

The Acqua For Life project started the 1st of March 2011: for each Acqua di Gio or Acqua di Gioia's bottle, the childer and their communities, will receive 100 lt of drinking water per year.

The first works will start in Ghana where the 40% of rural population has no access to drinking water.

The Smart Water Green Schools project is aimed at reaching a complete water depuration in order to reduce the death of people caused by infections.

Moreover Giorgio Armani will support also the UNICEF's Tap Water Project for the second year in United States.

The concrete actions already undertaken are drillings, wells, collecting system of rain water, improvements of populations' resources.

This is the "Acqua for life challenge" an international solidarity champaign which operates throughout the whole world.

L'IMPORTANZA DELL'ACQUA

Se consideriamo che tutte le più grandi civiltà si sono sviluppate lungo fiumi e mari, o su di altopiani, caratterizzati da abbondanti precipitazioni, sorge spontaneo dedurre che sia per un'unica grande ragione: la presenza dell'acqua. 

La Mesopotamia, ad esempio, detta mezza luna fertile perché circondata dal Tigri e dall'Eufrate, era così ricca da far sì che vi si sviluppassero due grandi civiltà: Sumeri e Babilonesi; ma anche la civiltà Egiziana, lungo il fiume Nilo.

Perché l'acqua era ed é così importante? Persino queste antichissime civiltà avevano preso atto che senz'acqua non era possibile irrigare la terra e così portare avanti l'attività dell'agricoltura, facilitava gli spostamenti ed il commercio, costituiva l'unica norma igienica, occorreva per la salute del bestiame ma soprattutto era indispensabile per la vita umana, oltre che per tutti gli esseri viventi. 

Col passare dei secoli e delle scoperte scientifiche, col mutare delle condizioni igienico sanitarie, con l'aumentare delle epidemie dovute al tifo o a simili malattie trasmesse dall'acqua, si é verificata la necessità che questa fosse potabile. 

QUANDO IL LUSSO INCONTRA LA SENSIBILITA'

Purtroppo da sempre, non tutti gli esseri umani beneficiano di questa importante risorsa.

Ogni giorno, 4000 bambini muoiono per malattie trasmesse dall'acqua non potabile.  

Ecco perché Giorgio Armani, in collaborazione con la Green Cross International, una delle principali organizzazioni indipendenti non governative e no- profit, ha avviato un'importante campagna a favore dei bambini che non possono usufruire di questo bene prezioso.

L'obiettivo di Acqua for Life di quest'anno é quello di fornire acqua potabile alle popolazioni in difficoltà  con un minimo di 40 milioni di litri. COME? 


LE AZIONI CONCRETE

A partire dal 1 Marzo 2011, ha avuto inizio l'operazione Acqua For Life: per ogni flacone di Acqua di Giò e Acqua di Gioia, i bambini e le loro comunità, riceveranno 100 litri di acqua potabile all'anno.   

I primi lavori di strutture finalizzate al progetto, partiranno in Ghana, dove il 40% della popolazione rurale non ha accesso all'acqua potabile.

Il progetto Smart Water for Green Schools sarà finalizzato appunto, alla depurazione dell'acqua affinché diminuiscano le morti infantili e non, causate da infezioni dovute all'acqua non potabile.

Giorgio Armani inoltre, supporterà anche il Tap Water Project dell'Unicef per il secondo anno consecutivo negli Stati Uniti.  

Le azioni concrete intraprese: trivellazioni, pozzi, costruzione di sistemi di raccolta dell'acqua piovana, miglioramento delle risorse delle popolazioni. Tutto questo è “acqua for life 

challenge” una campagna internazionale di solidarietà in tutto il mondo.
